The Old Firestation Cottage is a charming, detached, single story cottage with a picturesque mill stream idling through its wonderful private grounds. As its name suggests Old Firestation Cottage has an interesting history behind it; In 1901 Justice Cozens Hardy bought the village a manual ‘Merryweather’ Fire Engine from the London Fire Brigade to service the area around Holt. He also purchased an old carpenter’s shop in Letheringsett to house it. The building became known as ‘The Fire Station’ which is still standing today in the form of this lovely holiday cottage.

One enters the cottage through a small hallway in to a lovely open-plan room. This fantastic space contains the relaxing living area with comfortable soft furnishings, an attractive cream coloured woodburning stove, Smart TV with DVD player, ipod dock and plenty of books and board games for quiet evenings in. On the other side of this space, partially separated by a half height wall, is the well equipped kitchen with a double oven cooker with halogen hob, dishwasher, washer/drier, large fridge-freezer and everything else you would expect in a property whose owners have given great attention to detail and consider the comfort of their guests as their highest priority. There is a glazed door from the kitchen out on to a patio area right next to the babbling mill stream, a perfect little spot for coffee and croissants. Just off the kitchen is the oval pine dining table which comfortably seats 4.

The master bedroom has a lovely comfortable king sized bed and a spacious en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a zip and link bed which can be made up as a king size or twins on request (please give at least two weeks notice).
This room also has a good sized en-suite, this time with a walk in shower. Both bedrooms are finished in pleasant neutral tones in keeping with the décor throughout the cottage.

The Old Firestation sits in a unique and fabulous location under large Oak trees at the bottom of its private gravelled driveway with the mill stream meandering through the substantial lawned areas of the garden and behind the property to the mill pond. Situated in the carport is a table tennis table, perfect for all the family! Also in the garden tucked at the back of the cottage is a shed which is ideal for guests to store bikes etc.

The cottage is just a stones throw from the renowned Kings Head pub famous for its superb food and drink. It also benefits from being less than 1 mile to the famous Georgian market town of Holt and 3 miles to the North Norfolk coastline at Cley and Blakeney. You can reach this wonderful stretch of coast on foot along quiet country lanes and tracks.

Two dogs permitted at the property.

*Due to the mill stream being easily accessible we highly recommend young children are supervised at all times when in the garden of Old Firestation Cottage.

A £125.00 Security deposit will be ring-fenced during your stay and released on departure.

*Please note, because of the table tennis, the car port is not suitable for a car anymore.
